Realistic Textures Workshop
With JD Hillberry
Everything you see in the posted images is drawn.
This two day workshop is geared for beginners (ages 16 and up) to professional artists. The focus will be the techniques and concepts needed to create realistic looking textures. Through demonstrations and step by step guidance, you’ll follow along and learn to create a variety of realistic looking textures using charcoal and graphite pencils. The concepts acquired in this class will translate to painting as well, since light and shadow are the key factors in creating depth, dimension, and texture – regardless of the medium you are using.
On the first day you’ll learn the techniques to create realistic looking skin tones, hair, fur, wood, shiny metal, distressed metal, glass, liquid, and more. On the second day you’ll take that knowledge to create a final project.
All the reference photos and drawing supplies needed to complete the exercises and final project will be handed out before class and are yours to take home.
The class will be held at Paint the Town Citrus, 14350 N Dale Mabry Hwy, #A, Tampa 33618, on Saturday March 2nd and Sunday March 3rd from 9am to 4pm both days. All supplies are provided as well as beverages and snacks for both days, there will be a lunch break and there are restaurants in the same plaza. The class is limited so sign up soon. Any questions you can call us at 813-373-6190.
