Born in Santa Clara, Cuba, Andy William Duarte Duran developed a deep passion for paining from an early age, leading him to explore the world of art through studies with various private teachers. His dedication and talent guided him to enroll in the Oscar Fernandez Morera Professional Art School in Trinidad, Cuba, where he completed his final year at the Benny More Academy in Cienfuegos, solidifying his skills and broadening his artistic vision.
During his training Andy participated in multiple exhibitions that allowed him to share his work with a wider audience, receiving valuable feedback on his art.
After completing his education, he fulfilled two years of military service, then enrolled at the Higher Institute of Art in Havana, where he obtained his degree in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage.
Andy had the opportunity to share his passion and knowledge as a professor in the Paper and Photography Restoration Workshop at his alma mater, guiding future restorers and artists in preserving cultural legacy. His work at the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods as a decorator also allowed him to explore his creativity through projects aimed at enhancing the cultural identity of his country.
Throughout his career, Andy has been involved in various artistic initiatives and restoration projects, standing out for his commitment to heritage conservation. His focus on teaching an practice reflects an unwavering dedication to art and culture-values he continues to promote in each of his endeavors.
